SLIPKNOT drummer Jay Weinberg has posted a picture of him holding his gold plaque for ".5: The Gray Chapter". Check it out below.

".5: The Gray Chapter" sold around 132,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 1 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD arrived in stores in October 2014 via Roadrunner.

".5: The Gray Chapter" capped a very turbulent period for the masked rockers in which they dealt with the death of Paul Gray and the firing of drummer Joey Jordison, both longtime members and songwriters. Despite it all, singer Corey Taylor told The Pulse Of Radio he's proud of what the band has accomplished this time out. "The fact that we were able to kind of pull ourselves back up and not only go in and make a really good album, but make an exceptional album, in my opinion, I think it's a testament to just how talented this band is," he said. "It's a testament to how much passion we have for it. It's a testament to how much we're willing to fight to accomplish everything that we want to accomplish. To me, I think it's one of the best albums we've ever made."

SLIPKNOT's music video for "XIX", the opening track from the band's 2014 album, ".5: The Gray Chapter", can be seen below.

SLIPKNOT percussionist Shawn Crahan constructed the song as a three-minute eulogy for the band's founding bassist Paul Gray, who died in May 2010 of an accidental overdose of morphine and the painkiller fentanyl. Crahan spoke the song's opening words, "This song is not for the living; this song is for the dead." But it's the lyrics that frontman Corey Taylor wrote that drove him to tears: "Walk with me, just like we should have done right from the start.... Walk with me, don't let this fucking world tear you apart."

"I don't usually let people see me cry," Crahan told Rolling Stone magazine. "It's too hard. But when I heard what Corey Taylor sang on the song 'XIX', I cried and cried and cried. It hurt so bad."

Taylor explained the song's title to Kerrang!: "It's pronounced 'XX', but it's supposed to represent a couple of different things," he said. "It's the 19th year of the band's existence, and it's also a metaphor for stage two, because track one on the 'Iowa' album was '515', and this is 'XIX', So in Roman numerals it's almost like a double of that. So it represents a new start, and seeing where the road leads to."

Taylor added: "Lyrically, it's really about getting back up on your feet after getting smashed in the mouth, basically. It's just kind of the start of, you know, what would become to me the second stage of the band's career."

Corey told Kerrang!: "What you hear on the record is what we did on the very first demo. It's all me, all raw, in one take, the first time we recorded it."

The last single released from "The Gray Chapter" was called "Killpop".

SLIPKNOT's "Summer's Last Stand" tour kicked off on July 24 in West Palm Beach, Florida, and wrapped on September 5 in Dallas.

SLIPKNOT frontman Corey Taylor says that when he first saw the image that became the cover artwork for the band's long-awaited fifth album, ".5: The Gray Chapter", he was "so blown away" that he immediately knew SLIPKNOT had found what it was looking for.

The ".5: The Gray Chapter" was designed by M. Shawn Crahan, better known as Clown, who is the percussionist and founding member of SLIPKNOT. Crahan is also the art director for SLIPKNOT and directed their DVDs, "Disasterpieces", "Voliminal: Inside The Nine", "Of The (sic)", and "(sic)nesses: Live at Download". He has been the creative vision behind the band since their inception.

"The minute I saw that image, I knew that it was the cover," Taylor told Mistress Carrie of the Worcester/Boston, Massachusetts radio station WAAF, "because the great thing about Clown is that… He does all the artwork for us, he comes up with so much of the concepts, and he's really never gotten the amount of credit that I think he deserves. So when he came in, he had some of this fantastic artwork, I was so blown away. But that one image was so striking, and I think it told so many different stories just in that one image. Because it's black and white, but if you look at it, there's so much gray in it without the color gray even being there. I just knew that was our moment, that was our image, that's what we were gonna put up and hold up to the world and say, 'This is our album.' I just knew that was it."

Slipknot‘s sequential streaming of tracks from their new album “.5: The Gray Chapter” continues with a posting of “SKEPTIC” from the outing. Next Tuesday, October 21st, will see the release of the album itself.

You can check out “SKEPTIC”  below.

SKEPTIC Lyrics

Pissed!

I only want our fate, commit the rape
Do we get a little taste? That's unique
They love my taint, know what I made
Him - achievement on a Sunday
You were the gift, you were a gift
But there's a way - it's the god damned dead
Nothing and a curse, you made it work
The universe is so much smaller

Vengeance, bastards, different, why?
Why do the living decreed?
And our hero, martyr, missonary
God - he was the best of us

The world will never see another crazy motherfucker like you
The world will never know another man as amazing as you

Never be the same, I want the blame
To be a sign of the guiltiest one
It can't be done, because the son
Was a victim of your best sin
I'm so fucking pissed at all of this
You gotta know that you are sorely missed
Eight becomes a wheel, they hope you heal
They make you feel like they broke it better

[?], brother, scapegoat, why?
Why did we only get this day?
Fighter, icon, chanting
God - stop taking the best of us

I won't let you disappear
I will keep your soul alive if I can't have you here
It's no grim made heaven shield[?]
I'm lunatic, set in stones

But the world will never see another crazy motherfucker like you
The world will never know another man as amazing as you
The world will never see another crazy motherfucker like you
The world will never know another man as amazing as you

Skeptic (x6)

Where am I supposed to begin?
I'm killing for this god while I'm dead
Feed the meat to ripping machine
Where living is a way to be sane

God - are we alone? (x4)
God - we're not alone

I can't let you disappear
I will keep your soul alive if I can't have you heal
We were meant to be the gates
Rule the masses, run the risk
And keep our systems clean
It's your remake, heaven's shroud[?]
For lunatics that starve

But the world will never see another crazy motherfucker like you
The world will never know another man as amazing as you
The world will never see another crazy motherfucker like you
The world will never know another man as amazing as you

The world will never see (will never see)
Another crazy motherfucker like you (like you)
Like you (like you)
Like you

Slipknot‘s sequential streaming of tracks from their new album “.5: The Gray Chapter” continues with a posting of “Killpop” from the outing. Next Tuesday, October 21st, will see the release of the album itself.

KILLPOP Lyrics

She's sticking needles in her skin
I turn with another grin
Her canvas doesn't leave a lot - to fantasy

But her peace of mind - can't stay inside the lines
It's so confusing, the methods that she's using
She knows she shouldn't leave a mark - that I can see

Will she ever find, wondering of a kind
It's cold and lonely, but that's because she told me
Lost inside her dirty world
No one hurts this pretty girl but her

LOVE, SHE'S BEAUTIFUL
A LITTLE BETTER THAN HER MIND DEFERS
YOU ARE NOT INSIDE
PLEASE TELL ME SHE WON'T CHANGE

Maybe I should let her go
But only when she loves me
(She loves me)

How can I just let her go?
Not until she loves me
(She loves me)

She's drowning in herself again
My god, what a lovely sin
I guess there's nothing left to do
But have my way

She can feel it's right
So she doesn't close her eyes
She smiles and answers
It doesn't seem to matter

Lost inside my dirty head
Something tells me I'm the one who's kept

LOUD, SO VOLATILE
A LITTLE BETTER THAN HER MIND DEFILED
WHO I NEED TO BE
PLEASE TELL ME SHE WON'T CHANGE

Maybe I should let her go
But only when she loves me
(She loves me)

How can I just let her go?
Not until she loves me
(She loves me)

WE WERE MENT TO BE TOGETHER
NOW DIE AND FUCKING LOVE ME

WE WERE MENT TO BE TOGETHER
NOW DIE AND FUCKING LOVE ME

DIE AND FUCKING LOVE ME
DIE AND FUCKING LOVE ME
DIE AND FUCKING LOVE ME

It seems as though Slipknot is slowly streaming the entirety of their upcoming record .5: The Gray Chapter
You can check out “AOV”  below.

AOV - Approaching Original Violence Lyrics

Black
Dirty thief
In the grease
Was the proof too good to be believed?
Is the cunt
With the dumb
Who belongs on broken knees?

So far it occurs to me
That everybody in the world is afraid of me
Just one more cent and down we go
Now that the news is out
And I think I'm going to

Kill myself
Or fuck myself
Or tell myself
About the only thing that matters now
We bury what we fear the most
Approaching original violence!
Is the silence where you hide it?
Cuz I don't recognize you anymore

To each his own
I can do with one less watered down excuse
If this is over you can
Tell me it's no use

You can tell me it's over

Today
We will deceive
Our better selves
Into assimilating pain from something else

Put on your face
And show me why
Behind the scenes we had to simply comply

Now the community
Doesn't feel any better than it used to be
I wanna be a judge in a criminal case
You covered up, did you come to be

Be yourself
Not yourself
Know yourself
Cuz no one seems to know you now

We carry what we can't control
Approaching original violence
In the silence - There is a nihilist
Who does't care - And now they're dead

To each his own
I can do with one less watered down excuse
There comes a time where we can't
Take the same abuse

If this is over you can tell me it's no use

Drug out bits I'll never get to say
What you wanted doesn't matter
Nothing's gonna change

I don't wanna watch another brother fucking die
So discarded, fall over the side

Don't tell me it's the only way
Just another reason why you never take the bait
The trials, the screaming, the burdens of the beast
Fucked your face and turned your back on
Everything you thought could save a dream

We are the angels fear to tread
Approaching original violence
We're the silence
We'll deny it
We can't continue on like this

To each his own
I can do with one less watered down excuse
There comes a time where we can't
Take the same abuse

If this is over you can tell me it's no use
It doesn't matter what you say
It doesn't matter what you do
We can't continue on like this
